Let’s talk about TGL (Tomorrow’s Golf League).
If you’re even a little into golf, you’ve probably heard about this new league co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. It’s a totally fresh take on the game - mixing tech, competition, and entertainment in a way we haven’t seen before.
But here’s the real question: what does TGL’s high-tech, super-modern format mean for the golf simulator industry? And more importantly - how can you play like a pro (TGL-style) at home? Spoiler alert: it’s easier than you think.

What’s TGL All About?
TGL is not your typical golf league. Imagine a mashup of real golf hitting off real grass or sand, a turf green and approach area, and virtual gameplay all inside a stadium. It’s presented by SoFi, in partnership with the PGA TOUR, so you have to believe this setup is legit.
Here’s the setup:
-
Players hit from real surfaces (fairway, rough, sand) into a huge impact screen - one that is 24x the size of a typical impact screen - about 30 or so yards away.
-
Full Swing KIT launch monitors track the shot all the way to the screen, and the ball’s flight is then simulated on a virtual course.
-
When they get close to the pin (50 yards or less), they switch gears, turn around and finish the hole on green made out of turf. This isn’t just any green, though - it’s one that rotates to match the undulations of the virtual course. Crazy stuff.
The team format is fast-paced and fun:
- First, there’s a nine-hole “triples” match where three players alternate shots against three players of another team.
- Then, it’s six-hole singles, with each golfer playing two holes head-to-head.
Each hole that a team wins earns them a point, unless a hammer is thrown. Then the hole is worth two points. You can read more about TGL rules here.
So, option 1, move to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and get season tickets for TGL. Or…
How to Build Your Own TGL-Style Golf Simulator Setup
Here’s the thing: TGL isn’t just for the pros. With the right setup, you can bring some of the same high-tech, fast-paced experience into your own home. And the best part? We’ve already done the hard work for you.
We’ve rolled out many packages, including a TGL-inspired golf simulator package, that allow you to create your very own mini-TGL setup. It’s designed to give you the same immersive mix of real golf and virtual play, just like the pros are using.
With these setups, you can:
- Hit real shots into a high-quality impact screen.
- Use a pro-level launch monitor to track every detail of your swing.
- Play on ultra-realistic simulator software with the most famous courses in the world.
- Go head-to-head with friends in your own fast-paced simulator matches.
Basically, it’s the closest thing to having your own TGL arena - minus the rotating green, stadium seating and TV cameras (unless you want to invite some friends over for a live broadcast).
If you want to swap a piece or two out from a specific package, try our Build Your Own Golf Simulator Tool, where you can make your own custom golf sim package.
Why Simulators Are the Future
TGL proves that indoor golf isn’t just a backup plan for rainy days. It’s legit. Pros like Tiger and Rory are trusting this tech to deliver accurate data.
With a simulator, you can:
- Play golf year-round, even in the dead of winter.
- Get real-time swing feedback to actually improve your game.
- Tee it up on iconic courses from the comfort of your own home (no plane ticket required).
TGL’s high-tech format is a glimpse of where golf is headed, and simulators are leading the charge. They’re not just tools—they’re how golfers stay in the game and keep it fun, no matter what.

Conclusion
TGL is shaking things up, and we’re here for it. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s tech-forward - basically, everything modern golf should be. If TGL has you dreaming of a high-tech golf setup at home, there’s no better time to jump in.
